Dear Friends, I hope this message finds you well. As your County Supervisor, I am honored to serve our community and work on building a safer, stronger, and more vibrant community. This is the first edition of my quarterly newsletter in which I want to keep you informed, engaged, and connected with the work my team and I are doing and resources that I think will be helpful to you.

The Monte Rio Redwoods Expansion moves forward, protecting over 1,500 acres of forest and watershed in a major conservation effort. With salmon season approaching, boaters are encouraged to review safety tips before heading out. The upcoming Lower Russian River MAC meeting on June 12 will focus on the County’s General Plan Update and introduce the EPIC public art campaign, which promotes keeping trash out of local waterways. The meeting will also include a brief summary update regarding a possible Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District (EIFD) in unincorporated West County.

Board of Supervisors adopts budget for 2025-26 fiscal year
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today voted unanimously to adopt a balanced budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year beginning July 1 but warned that it may need to adjust spending if the federal or state government cut funding for County programs later this year.
Supervisors authorize $1 million investment in community resource centers, resilient infrastructure for Healdsburg, Cloverdale
The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday authorized $1 million in grant funding for infrastructure development and improvements to Abel De Luna Community Center in Healdsburg and La Familia Sana in Cloverdale to better serve community needs for family resources, bolster disaster preparedness, and improve capacity for disaster recovery in northern Sonoma County. The two individual $500,000 investments come from the Supervisorial District Four Community Infrastructure Fund.
Board of Supervisors to hold annual budget workshops April 28 - 30
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors will hold its annual budget workshops on April 28, 29 and 30 to provide county residents an opportunity to learn about the 2025-26 fiscal year preliminary spending plan and provide input to the Board of Supervisors before it adopts a final budget in June.
